SOLD OUT - The Taste of Art with Barbsie -  5 days in Camps Bay, Cape Town, including art therapy and expertly guided stretching and vinyasa yoga suitable for beginners and advanced learners alike.


About Barbsie (art) 

Barbsie is a professional London based artist. During the last year alone, Barbsie had 18 successful solo art exhibitions around the world. Her artworks are in private collections all over the world.

Barbsie belongs to a new generation of artists - thinkers, whose philosophical attitude integrates with contemporary society motives to reflect the world of interests of people who reach success.

Barbsie was eduicated in art at the Central Saint Martins College of Art, and is a laureate of two international art contests.

 

Barbsie's art is about being ambitious in a good way. It is about the drive to discover the true you and the motivaiton arising from your own desires to live life to its fullest, tasting your dreams and challenging yourself every day to exceed your limits. She believes in unleashing the power of art for balance in all areas of your life.

The psychological aspect of art is the key subject of research in Barbsie's art, and that empowers her on her continuous journey to better understand the study of human characters and characteristics.

Understanding the inner world of her students allows Barbsie to communicate in a way that creates a deep connection within the art workshops between the students and their feelings, thereby lending a spritual tone to her workshops.


About our retreats 

Nava Haus Retreats retreats are planned around our four key pillars of L.I.F.E: leisure, indulgence, fitness and energy. We combine training and instruction, socializing, well-being and downtime. We expect you to come back pampered, healthier, mentally sound and with new life-long friends. We always use a high standard of luxury villa from our portfolio. They all include infinity pools or similar standard, modern conveniences, kitchen and living areas and beautiful gardens or views.


Our menus are unique, sourced from fresh local ingredients wherever we are and prepared on-site by our chefs, who we typically fly in with us. We work with the best trainers to ensure the fitness and health package is top-notch. 

Our retreats are perfect for all - singles, couples re-connection, groups of friends or group celebrations. Our hosts ensure everybody is comfortable, well-introduced and included. They will be available daily from your arrival to your departure to ensure you are taken care of, so you can focus on your health and fun.


The Art Therapy Classes 

Friday

Big abstract painting.

Instruments: Composition and tone. Drawing. 

Therapy: Improving structuring/planning skills, self discipline and self consciousness.


Saturday 

Big abstract painting.

Instruments : Paint application and manipulation (acrylic and oil)

Therapy: Stress relief, self expression, energy boost.


Sunday

Big abstract painting.

Instruments: Collage, texture and layering.

Therapy: Improving the ability to think out of the box, the conneciton between using art sintruments and applying a creative approach to business and relationships.


The Yoga Training - suitable for all levels 

Vinyasa is a style of yoga characterized by stringing postures together so that you move from one to another, seamlessly, using breath. Commonly referred to as “flow” yoga, it is sometimes confused with “power yoga“.

Vinyasa classes offer a variety of postures and no two classes are ever alike.  The opposite would be “fixed forms” such as Bikram Yoga, which features the same 26 postures in every class, or Ashtanga which has the same sequence every time.

The variable nature of Vinyasa Yoga helps to develop a more balanced body as well as prevent repetitive motion injuries that can happen if you are always doing the same thing every day.As a philosophy, Vinyasa recognizes the temporary nature of things.  We enter into a posture, are there for a while and then leave.While Vinyasa, or Vinyasa-Krama, dates back to the Vedic age - the earliest period of yoga thousands of years ago.

 

Stretching, meditation & yoga

stretching, yoga and meditation sessions will be taught every morning. The training will be on the beach, weather and conditions permitting. Where the beach cannot be used, we will use the interior of the villas or the outside areas, with breath taking views overlooking the bay. 

The training on the retreat is suitable for all levels of yoga. Whether you're a beginner, intermediate or advanced yoga oractitioner, the brief meditation will clear your mind, the stretching will free up your energy for each day and the yoga training will teach / help to rebalance your foundations and prepare you for each day's activities.

 

Daily Itinerary (this may change very slightly depending on weather and inspiration) 

 

Friday 

3.00 pm onwards: Pick up of guests, settling in, introductions to hosts

7.30 pm - 8.30 pm: Formal introductions, rules, health and safety, welcome to the retreat

8.45 pm - Late: Ice-breaker evening - networking, one on one introductions of all guests by our hosts, BBQ dinner and drinks


Saturday 

7.30 am: Tea and healthy snacks/biscuits

8.00 am - 8.15 am: 15 min Meditation & breathing

8.15 am - 8.30 am: 15 min Stretching

8.30 am - 9.15 am: 45 min Vinyasa Yoga Practice

9.30 am: Healthy, nutritious energy replenishing breakfast (Our chef)

11.30 am: 1hr Art therapy session (Barbsie)

1.00 pm: Lunch/brunch

2.15 pm - 5.00 pm: Visit to the V&A waterfront to explore Cape Town.

*6.00 pm (Optional): Cape Town Sunset Champagne Cruise and 3-Course Dinner. (£65 - Experience the sunset under sail or on a twin-masted schooner with two glasses of SA sparkling wine followed by a 3-course dinner). Price also includes transport to and from the villa. Please note this is an optionala ctivity and will need to be booked as add-on when booking your package, or you can email team@navahausretreats.com to book)

10.00 pm: Return to the villa


Sunday  

7.30 am: Tea and healthy snacks/biscuits

8.00 am - 8.15 am: 15 min Meditation & breathing

8.15 am - 8.30 am: 15 min Stretching

8.30 am - 9.15 am: 45 min Vinyasa Yoga Practice

9.45 am - 11.15 am: Packed beakfast on the coach, journey to Mullineux wine tasting (wine tasting trip, included in the package)

11.30 am - 1.00 pm: Mullineux Single Terroir Tasting

3.00 pm - 4.00 pm: Lunch at the villa

4.15 pm - 5.15 pm: 1hr Art therapy session (Barbsie)

5.30 pm - 7.00 pm: Downtime

8.00 pm - Late (Optional): Visit into Cape Town (Pay as you go - Dinner at Bungalow circa 8.30 pm suggested, plus drinks and dancing. This is pay as you go. Please note this is an optional activity. To reserve a dinner spot or for questions, please email team@navahausretreats.com)


Monday 

7.00 am - 7.30 am: Tea and healthy snacks/biscuits

8.00 am - 9.00 am (Optional): Cape Town boat cruise (£50 - Visit the famous V&A waterfront, pass by Camps Bay, Twelve Apostles, Sea Point, Robben Island Museum. Price also includes transport to and from the villa. Please note this is an optional activity and will need to be booked as add-on when booking your package, or you can email team@navahausretreats.com to book)

9.30 am: Healthy, nutritious energy replenishing breakfast (Our chef)

10.30 am - 11.15 am: 45 min Vinyasa Yoga Practice

11.30 am - 12.15 am: 45 min Art therapy session (Barbsie)

12.45 pm - 2.00pm: Healthy, nutritious lunch

2. 30 pm - 6.00 pm (Optional): Seal Snorkeling with Animal Ocean on Duiker island (£110 - Price also includes transport to and from the villa. Please note this is an optional activity and will need to be booked as add-on when booking your package, or you can email team@navahausretreats.com to book) 

2. 30 pm - 6.00 pm: or you can shave some beach time if you would rather have some down time, relax and enjoy the beach or sun bathe.

6.00PM (Optional): Cape Town/Camps Bay dinner.

10.00 pm: Return to the villa
